• Do I Need To Be referred By a Doctor?

No, you can consult us without having a doctor’s referral. However, if you are using Private Medical Insurance you may need to see your GP first.
Please check your policy for details.


• When is The Clinic Open?

8am - 8pm Monday to Friday
9am - 1pm Saturdays


• How Do I Book An Appointment?

Please telephone the clinic on 01246 208325. Our reception is staffed between 9am - 5pm and we make every effort to answer the phone at other times.

If your call is not answered please leave your details on our 24-hour answer phone and we will call you back as soon as possible.


• How Long Will I Have To Wait Before An Appointment Is Available?

Appointments are usually available within 48 hours, and often on the same day.


• How long Will I Need To Allow For The Appointment?

On average appointments are approximately 40 – 45 minutes duration. This may be slightly more or less depending upon the nature of your problem.

Please allow yourself 1 hour for your Initial Assessment as sometimes this may take a little longer.


• What Will Happen On My First Visit?

If you are pregnant or have a cardiac pacemaker fitted please inform the Physiotherapist BEFORE you enter the treatment area.

Please inform someone at reception of your arrival.

After taking some personal details the Physiotherapist will ask you for some information regarding your current problem.

You will then be physically assessed. This may require the removal of outer clothing. It will involve certain movement and tests in order to establish the nature of your problem.

Following the assessment the physiotherapist will discuss their findings with you, give you an indication of the treatment required and the likely prognosis.


• How Often Will I Need To Come?

Different conditions require varying lengths of treatment. After your initial assessment your physiotherapist should be able to give you some idea as to what is necessary.


• Is It Ok If Someone Comes With Me During My Appointments?

Yes, you are welcome to be accompanied during treatment if you wish.


• My Child has A Problem, Can I Make An Appointment For Them?

Yes, we are happy to see any children between the ages of 5 - 16. We ask that a responsible adult accompany them at all times whilst on the premises.


• Where Is The Clinic?

98 Saltergate, Chesterfield, Derbyshire S40 1LG

We are situated in the left hand side of the old Miners Union building, the one with the 2 large stone statues outside.

• Where Can I Park?

Please Note – We no longer have the facility to park outside what was the Saltergate Social Club near the old football ground.

The nearest Pay & Display parking is situated on Rose Hill, at the rear of the Town Hall.

On street parking is available on the roads near to the clinic but be aware that many areas are Resident Only parking, or short time duration.

Please do not park at the clinic, we only have sufficient space for staff


• How Much Will It Cost?

Self-payment - £34 per session. We reserve the right to charge for non-attendance or cancellation of an appointment unless 24 hours notice is given.


• Can I Use My Private Medical Insurance?

The clinic is recognized by all the main Private Medical Insurance providers, e.g. BUPA, AXA PPP, Aviva, WPA, Prudential, Westfield, HSA etc. Please check your policy for details of your cover and claims procedure.

We require your Membership details and any Authorization numbers in order to be able to invoice the relevant company directly.

Please be aware that you will remain liable for any amount not paid by your insurer.

For Claim Back schemes such as Westfield or HSA we will issue you with a receipt once payment has been made in full.


• How Can I Pay For My Treatment?

Our preferred method of payment is by Debit Card at the time of your appointment.

We also accept all major Credit Cards (except American Express), Cash or Cheques.
